Creation of GILOR establishments
GILOR was created in 1952 on the Quai Saint-Vincent by Mr. Gilbert EHINGER. The company was already specialized in precious metal deposits for jewelry, leather goods and goldsmiths.
GILOR moves to western Lyon
New establishment of a workshop of 250m ² on the commune of Sainte-Consorce (69).
Diversification of activity in the connector industry
Still positioned on the decorative coatings market, GILOR is diversifying its activity on the technical coatings market for the connector industry. This implies a global reorganization and the implementation of additional treatment lines adapted to this market: gold plating, silver plating, tin-lead, nickel, copper, white bronze and yellow bronze.
Acquisition of the 1st device for thickness measurement by Fluorescence-X
GILOR has always been concerned with respecting the thickness of deposits made for its customers.
Transmission of the family company
Nephews of Mr. and Mrs. Ehinger and with GILOR since 1980 Maurice EMPEYTA and Thierry MASONI take over the management of the company.
Mathieu EMPEYTA joins GILOR
As Mathieu's father is retiring and Thierry MASONI is still working, he recruits Mathieu to assist him and prepare the transmission of the company to the 3rd generation.

Diversification of the activity in the medical sector
Following a call for tenders, GILOR was selected to carry out the gilding of implants for the human body in very large series.
The gold plating technique was developed according to strict specifications in order to meet biocompatibility requirements: dedicated processing line, nickel-free gold alloy, increased traceability, etc. Our client is a world reference in its field of activity.
GILOR obtains ISO 9001 certification
Having always been concerned with customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, it is natural that the company has confirmed its know-how by obtaining ISO 9001 certification in May 2021.
GILOR is getting a makeover!
The company needs more space to continue to develop its activity. After 42 years of operation in the west of Lyon, GILOR is moving its factory to a brand new business park north of Lyon in the commune of GENAY (69). The site is ideally located in the north of the Lyon metropolitan area, in the immediate vicinity of a motorway axis (A46 entrance and exit). More modern, more spacious and above all in compliance with the latest environmental and safety standards in force, our new factory will enable us to offer new capacities to our customers.
